You know, I actually understood this.

But what I hate, what I absolutely loathe, apart from that they decided to do it this way at all, is that it had to be clarified outside the game. It would have been so easy to properly “fix” this - either have Shepard come up behind the LI and take the Commander Shepard plaque from them while leaning into their side, or, even simpler, have the LI saying Shepard’s name over his/her suit comm when Shepard takes the breath (since it appears out-of-sequence anyway). It’s like they stopped half a step from giving us true closure on purpose. And I can’t even tell you how angry that makes me.
